I'm Aban. I write aban news.
One person. One newsletter. Mon–Fri morning, in German, for people who use AI daily and don't have patience for hype-driven weekly digests.
Why aban news exists
I'm Allen Chour — friends call me Aban. Solopreneur, based in Switzerland. I've been using AI tools daily for three years for writing, research and automation. What got on my nerves: scrolling through twelve newsletters, LinkedIn posts and Reddit threads every morning to find the few updates that actually mattered.
Most German-language AI newsletters are weekly (too slow) or full of marketing speak (too hype). English daily newsletters like TLDR AI exist — but there's translation friction plus a US-tool bias.
So I'm building aban news. Daily, in German, hand-curated. Like a smart friend over coffee — telling you what's going on, and also telling you when a tool isn't worth your time.
What I do, what I don't
I do
- Write every issue myself, in German
- Test tools before I recommend them (minimum 30 min on a real task)
- Link every source — claims you can check
- Read and reply to every email personally
- Push back when something is hype, even from sponsors
I don't
- Use ghostwriters or an agency
- Copy-paste press releases
- Run tracking pixels or sell data
- Translate this newsletter into English (yet)
- Promise "10x your productivity"
The setup, briefly
The pipeline runs nightly: Make.com pulls RSS from five German AI sites, Anthropic Claude (Sonnet 4.7) drafts a version, a forbidden-phrases regex catches hype words, I review and rewrite, the mail ships at 06:30. Half automated, fully hand-edited.
Tech stack on the site: static HTML on GitHub Pages, no WordPress, no PHP, no cookie banner needed. Mail: Gmail drafts in the pilot phase, migrating to beehiiv with EU datacenter option once subscriber count justifies it.
For the curious: I picked Claude because it writes German better than the alternatives I tested and follows anti-hype constraints more reliably. Re-evaluated quarterly.
Background
Before aban news I was running a Shopify store on the side and building newsletter-automation setups for other operators. Three years of daily Claude/ChatGPT use, before that ten years of marketing and content work for SMBs.
German-speaking, English-fluent, French-rusty. Based in Belp, Switzerland — a small commune outside Bern. The newsletter is written here and read across Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

That's the story
If it sounds like something you'd want in your inbox Mon–Fri morning — the newsletter is in German.
